I am the Presidential Fellow in Ethnicity and Inequalities at the University of Manchester. My research examines the consolidation of nations through racialised state violence. I hold a PhD in Sociology from Boston University (2018); an MSc in Race, Ethnicity, and Postcolonial Studies from the London School of Economics (2010); and a BA in International Relations and French from Wellesley College (2007). My work has been published in Memory Studies, Current Sociology, Postcolonial Studies, and Studies in Ethnicity and Nationalism.
