Meghan Tinsley
I am a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Manchester. My research is situated at the intersection of nationalism, racialisation, and the memory of empire. I hold a PhD in Sociology from Boston University (2018); an MSc in Race, Ethnicity, and Postcolonial Studies from the London School of Economics (2010); and a BA in International Relations and French from Wellesley College (2007). My book, Commemorating Muslims in the First World War: Making Melancholia (Routledge, 2021), examines how the memory of a marginalised minority constructs, and unsettles, the nation at large. My work has also been published in a number of international, interdisciplinary journals, including Ethnic and Racial Studies, Memory Studies, Current Sociology, and Postcolonial Studies.
